History

1961
Founder Salim Düzgit, after earlier years as a fisherman, began his professional maritime career by joining Kemal Özgen & İsmail Esen Ship Agency as a launch (service boat) captain, gaining first-hand experience in vessel operations in the Strait of Istanbul.

01 May 1966
With the encouragement of a key customer, Mr. Arif Erten, owner of Bumerang Vapur Acentası, Salim Düzgit founded İstanbul Boğazı Vapur Hizmetleri (Strait of Istanbul Ship Services), laying the foundations of what would later develop into Düzgit Group.

1967
Delivery of the Group’s first service boat, “Nuhrevan”, symbolising smooth, steady sailing and setting the operational philosophy of reliability and continuity.

1973
Düzgit Ticaret was founded, entering the marine lubricants supply business and becoming a distributor for leading brands including Mobil (later ExxonMobil), Shell, BP, and Petrol Ofisi.

1984–1988
Expansion into Çanakkale, establishing ship agency and duty-free shipstore operations and extending the Group’s presence to both Turkish Straits.

1997
Acquisition of the Group’s first vessel, a general cargo ship named “Büyükdere”, marking entry into shipowning.

1999
Delivery of Naval Academy Training Boats constructed by Düzgit Gemi İnşa to the Ministry of National Defense, establishing shipbuilding and defence-sector credentials.

2002
Commencement of chemical and oil tanker construction, delivering vessels ranging from 3,150 DWT to 30,000 DWT using selected shipyards in the Marmara region.

2005
Consolidation of ship agency operations under Düzgit Vapur Hizmetleri in Istanbul and Denizciler Düzgit in Çanakkale, together with the establishment of GEMTAC at Zeyport, Zeytinburnu.

2007
Investment in the Yalova Shipyard Region, laying the groundwork for future industrial activities.

2009
Formation of DFS Shipstore following regulatory changes, continuing duty-free shipstore operations in Çanakkale through a joint venture.

2012
Relocation of Group headquarters to Maslak and establishment of DSM Ship Management, providing technical and commercial management services.

2023
With Beşiktaş Shipyard becoming a strategic partner, Düzgit Yalova Shipyard was renamed Park Shipyard, and upon completion of infrastructure investments, the yard received its first vessel for repair operations.

2024
Commissioning of a new Post-Panamax floating dock at Park Shipyard, with 52,500 tonnes lifting capacity. The yard is now capable of accommodating vessels of up to 300 m LOA, 43 m beam, and 100,000 DWT.
