Shipbuilding

Düzgit Group has been active in shipbuilding and ship construction since 1997, developing a strong track record in the design, construction, and delivery of high-value commercial, passenger, and specialized vessels. Shipbuilding activities have historically been carried out through Düzgit Gemi İnşa Sanayi A.Ş., operating from the Tuzla and Yalova shipbuilding regions of Türkiye.

From its inception, Düzgit Shipbuilding focused on projects requiring engineering depth, design capability, and disciplined project execution, rather than series production. This approach enabled the Group to successfully deliver vessels tailored to specific operational profiles and regulatory requirements.

One of the Group’s early milestones was being awarded a Ministry of National Defense contract for the design and construction of eight naval training boats for the Turkish Navy, delivered between 1998 and 2000. This project marked Düzgit as one of the first private domestic shipyards in Türkiye to execute a defence contract involving full design responsibility, authority approvals, and sea trials.

Between 2002 and 2014, Düzgit Shipbuilding delivered a diverse portfolio of vessels, including:

  • IMO II and IMO III chemical and oil tankers ranging from approximately 3,000 DWT to over 30,000 DWT
  • Diesel-electric passenger ferries for metropolitan public transport
  • High-speed aluminium patrol and service boats
  • Specialized workboats, tugs, and support vessels

All projects were executed with in-house capabilities covering design, engineering, project management, construction supervision, testing, and delivery, working in coordination with leading classification societies such as Bureau Veritas and Turkish Lloyd.

Beyond newbuilding, the Group has also demonstrated capability in conversion and modification projects, including general cargo-to-tanker barge conversions and structural upgrades offshore transhipment platforms and barges under class supervision.

Today, Düzgit Group’s shipbuilding heritage continues to form a core part of its technical DNA and comlements the Group’s current activities. This integrated background enables Düzgit Group to approach vessel projects with a lifecycle perspective, combining operational insight with engineering experience.
